The part of my thesis that was the most intimidating to me was the Literature Review. I had a lot of articles and materials, but I was still nervous about how all of it would come together. It was fun to find the articles, and then find the particular parts of the articles that were relevant to my data. The most rewarding part was putting those two pieces together. So while the Literature Review stressed me the most, it ended up being the highlight at the same time. It was interesting to see how my data aligned with ideas that professional researchers find in their studies. While my study was very small, it was still something that was impactful to me and rewarding to see with my own eyes.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was writing my thesis I think the most challenging thing for me was making sure I had enough information to cover my topic. When I was looking for articles I felt like I did not have enough information that would help support my thesis. Looking back I had plenty of information. The most stressful part for me was writing my literature review. Since I had four themes I was worried about covering each area. After looking back on the whole thesis processes it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I think since each part was broken up into different sections it made it easier to write the whole thing. Completing my thesis is a great accomplishment and extremely rewarding.
ReplyDeleteA rewarding aspect of my thesis was seeing the growth my students accomplished in identifying CVC words. Each student grew in their own way. Throughout the study the students learned strategies in identifying CVC words. Even though I was looking at the quantitative part of my data I realized as I was analyzing the data the students were using self-correcting strategies when identifying the words. They were relying less on sounding out and more on recognition. The interventions were working. I think the most challenging part of the thesis was the lit review. It was frustrating because I was focused specifically on RTI and CVC words and was coming up short on articles and then I broaden my themes and was able to find more articles within my themes and sub-themes that related to my study.

Writing a thesis was a very challenging task. I think that was partly due to working on writing the thesis along with holding down a full time job and running a household. Devoting enough time to produce a quality product was tough. As far as the thesis writing itself, I felt analyzing the data was the most challenging. Questioning myself and trusting my judgement in analyzing what I recorded was difficult because no one else had the same topic and without having anything to compare to, I had to just trust I was doing it correctly. Congratulations to everyone! After graduation we may never cross paths again but you are all a huge part of my life. We were complete strangers almost 18 months ago but we got to know each other, encourage each other and helped each other accomplish something great!
ReplyDeleteThe most challenging component of my thesis was completing the literature review. To me it was overwhelming. With the amount of literature to go through and then code it appropriately was time consuming. I believe the thought of how to get started with the literature review overwhelmed me. Once I got started though it was not too bad and also made it a rewarding accomplishment. I believe the absolute rewarding accomplishment of was the completion of my thesis and having the support of everyone in the cohort was a great motivator for myself as well. Congratulations to everyone! Thank you all for being such a great support system and made this graduate experience an enoyable and memorable time.
ReplyDeleteWriting my thesis in general was very challenging. Writing is not my favorite, and it is not my strongest area. When I first started I felt very overwhelmed, but breaking down the sections throughout was very helpful. Completing my thesis was a great accomplishment, and I was blessed to be able to do it among such wonderful people!
